About

“We will sing of great crowds excited by work, by pleasure, and by riot…”
- Tommaso Marinetti

Dave moved from England to Knoxviille in the Spring of 2000 and has been photographing the people and places of East Tennessee ever since. He has enjoyed a lifelong love affair with photography and, in particular, the classic black and white images from the 1920s through the 1960s.

In his current portraiture, Dave likes to combine the look of the iconic images that inspired him, with a modern ‘fashion’ edge. He takes great pride in the fact that he maintains control over every aspect of his work; from the initial sitting and shoot, to the processing of the film in his custom-built darkroom, to the hand-finishing* of the prints.

A firm believer that great characters deserve great portraits, he looks forward to providing you with yours.

*some oversize, or unusual format, prints may be handled by a third party. For this we use a local full-service photographic lab with a long tradition of supplying premium quality prints.
