Hard to beat fixed lenses, at the contrary of Leica, the 50mmf:1.4 is an advantage, it does pictures as good as the Leica Summicron f:2.
I sold my Leica M4-2 and kept my Nikon F Photomic, more massive but I think an overall better gear.

I purchased a near mint FTN w/35mm f2.8, and found the s 50 1.4 on ebay
for 102.00 .After reading your article I am so looking forward to working
with this lens. This lens sounds like a treasure.
